— Signing Paperwork —
How do I sign my loan paperwork?
Upon approving the pre-install review, PG&E provides you with a loan agreement, which includes proposed loan terms, via email to the address of the authorized signatory you provided. When you select “Go to Documents” in the email, you’ll be given access to loan documents and can accept the disclosures and consent to the agreement.
What if I don’t want to or cannot/am not able to e-sign?
Please make this preference known to your main contact and state your preferred method of signing.
How long do I have to sign my paperwork?
We ask that you e-sign your documents within 72 hours of receiving the loan agreement email.
— Payment Process —
Who gets the loan check?
The loan disbursement cannot be split into multiple checks so can be paid either to the customer of the contractor. The check will be mailed to the address specified on the agreement. In most cases, Ecology Action suggests payment directly to the contractor. Note that rebate and OBF payments are not made until the customer signs a project completion form stating their satisfaction with the project.
My project has a portion that will not be financed. What do I do now?
When a project’s payback period exceeds OBF eligibility, customers may be eligible to “buy down” the project cost. This buy-down reflects the amount that will not be covered by on-bill financing, and it should be paid directly to the contractor (according to terms agreed upon by the customer and the contractor). The buy-down is not paid to PG&E.

What are the customer’s responsibilities?
We ask that you read the energy efficiency proposal and the on-bill financing documents to verify the costs, PG&E account numbers, payee and business information. The loan will be for a single SAID number so be sure your account and service agreement number is correct. Notify Ecology Action if any of the information needs correcting.
We also ask that you be available by email and phone and that you sign your documents promptly. The more available you are, the faster we can process your paperwork, and the sooner you’ll see savings on your utility bill.
What are the contractor’s responsibilities/expectations?
Contractors will be the technical experts on your retrofit, and they will schedule and perform the installation. Contractors work with Ecology Action to provide information on rebate and on-bill financing.
What is PG&E’s role in this process?
As a utility customer you will be going into financial contract with PG&E. Their role is to disperse the initial loan agreement.
What is Ecology Action’s role in this process?
Ecology Action provides each customer with an energy efficiency consultant and a project manager, both listed on your proposal. Ecology Action also maintains staff to manage your on-bill financing. We will submit all the necessary paperwork on your behalf and walk you through each step. Refer back to contacts page.
